We provide accreditation for endoscopists to work in the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme in England and Bowel Screening Wales.
The new timeframes for the BSCA assessment process were agreed at the 7 November 2024 BCSA panel meeting. These will affect all candidates once implemented. We will update screening centres when we have a confirmed launch date.

Welcome to Bowel Cancer Screener Accreditation (BCSA)
The Bowel Cancer Screening Accreditation (BCSA) programme in England and Bowel Screening Wales were introduced to reduce the number of bowel cancer associated deaths, through early detection of the disease. A colonoscopy is required for screening. To ensure patients receive a consistently high-quality endoscopic procedure, the clinicians carrying out the test must be accredited. JAG manages the accreditation process that all endoscopists must complete to work as an endoscopist within the English and Welsh screening programmes.
BCSA is part of the JAG programme hosted at the Royal College of Physicians.
